At standard weight with a mid-length 5-foot 6-inch front taper (WF5F) for soft presentations, RIO GOLD delivers flies with delicacy and finesse, making it perfect for anglers who rig with dry-fly intent then switch to droppers and light indicators as conditions change. With a 47-foot head (WF5F) and long back taper, it’s the right choice for rivers and lakes that require medium to long casts and distance mends.

We have enhanced the performance of this wonderful trout line by building it with SlickCast - RIO's proprietary coating technology. SlickCast creates the slickest, most durable fly lines on the market. Lab tests show that lines built with SlickCast have the least amount of friction ever measured in a fly line.
